Overview

This Chrome extension is designed to analyse the currently open webpage and provide page-level insights related to indexing, metadata, content structure, links, images, structured data, social tags, tracking setup, and robots.txt rules. User privacy is taken seriously, and the extension is built to operate without collecting or transmitting personal data.

Data Collection

This extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.

Specifically:

• No personally identifiable information (PII) is collected

• No browsing history is tracked

• No user accounts, logins, or identifiers are required

• No analytics or third-party tracking is used

All analysis is performed locally within the user’s browser.

Website Data Access

The extension temporarily reads the HTML and DOM of the currently active webpage only when the user opens the extension or interacts with it. This access is required to analyse on-page elements such as meta tags, headings, links, images, structured data, and indexing directives.

The extension may also request the site’s robots.txt file from the same origin to determine indexing rules.

No website content is sent to external servers.

Data Storage

The extension uses Chrome’s local storage (chrome.storage.local) solely to store analysis results temporarily so they can be displayed across different sections of the extension interface.

This data:

• Remains on the user’s device

• Is not shared externally

• Can be cleared by removing the extension or clearing browser data

  
  

Permissions Usage

The extension only requests permissions that are strictly necessary for its single purpose:

• activeTab – to analyse the currently active webpage

• scripting – to inject analysis scripts at the user’s request

• storage – to temporarily store audit results

• host permissions – to analyse any website the user chooses and fetch robots.txt
  
  

Permissions are used only when the user explicitly interacts with the extension.

Third-Party Services

This extension:

• Does not use third-party APIs

• Does not integrate with external analytics tools

• Does not share data with any third party

Data Security

Because all processing happens locally in the browser and no data is transmitted externally, the risk of data exposure is minimised.

Changes to This Policy

This privacy policy may be updated if the extension’s functionality changes. Any updates will be reflected in the published policy.
